Poydras no longer exists in the Central Business District. The eastern end of this block was combined with the western end of the adjacent block to the east (the block bordered by Pacific, Elm, Poydras, Griffin), by taking out Poydras Street. Griffin was then "moved".

This formed a new block bordered by Pacific, Elm, Lamar, and the "new" Griffin.

Some retail storefronts still exist in this block.

A couple of illustrated retail storefronts remain from the original block.

1011, 1013, 1015, and 1017 Elm were removed to relocate Griffin. The "new" Griffin was then extended southward, bisecting blocks shown on subsequent pages. After Griffin was moved, the eastern end of this block was merged with the western end of the adjacent block to the east (the block bordered by Pacific, Elm, the "old" Griffin, and Field). This formed a new block bordered by Pacific, Elm, the "new" Griffin, and Field.

All illustrated retail storefronts now gone.

The western end of this block was merged into the eastern end of the block adjacent to the west, when the "old" Griffin was removed. This new block is the site of the Renaissance Tower, 1201 Elm Street, built in 1974 to a height of 56 stories.

This block was razed to make way for the new First National Bank Tower, 1401 Elm Steet, in 1964. Topping 50 stories, it became Dallas' tallest building. No longer a bank building, it is now designated as 1401 Elm Place.

A couple of storefronts in the 1505/1507 Elm range still exist, but all other retail storefronts are now gone.

This block is dominated by the Thanksgiving Tower, 1601 Elm Street, which was built in 1982 to a height of 50 stories, and the 1600 Pacific Building, 1600 Pacific Ave, which was built in 1964 to a height of 33 stories.

Most of the illustrated small retail storefronts are gone, along with the Tower and Melba theaters. Only the Majestic theater remains of all that existed along the Elm Street theater district for many years.
